Wave Pool BOM Month 6 (Friday Foto Fun #242)
Today, we are on the LAST month of the BOM, Month 6 of the Wave Pool Block of the Month! I will be going LIVE on YouTube tomorrow at 1:30pm Central for the block demo and to answer any questions. Be sure to be following my YouTube channel to follow along!
If you haven't gotten the pattern yet, you can pick it up from my Etsy or Payhip shop. It's not too late to order the kit and sew along as the tutorials and videos will be available for help. This month we are using 2 different fabrics and the background fabric.
Tips and Tricks:
- This month is very similar to Month 2 blocks except the center has a 4-patch.
- When you are cutting on a diagonal, be super careful that the diagonal does not shift during cutting.
- For the squares that have 2 diagonal cuts, don't move the pieces in the middle of the two cuts. Rotate the cutting mat instead.
- As a reminder, if you have one of the early print runs of the pattern, there is a rounding mistake on Layer 3. The correct size is just shy of 6-7/8" instead of 7". If you got the pattern on Payhip, you should have received an updated download link and this has been listed on my pattern corrections page. If you don't normally measure your blocks as you go, you wouldn't know any different.
- Use a design board to lay out the block in the correct orientation prior to sewing it together.
- Chain piece all the blocks so you are making all 16 at once. It goes much faster this way!
