Happy Friday! As Wave Pool BOM quilt along is pretty much finished, I decided that I want to do the Transparent Stars as the next pattern to do a sew along! I finally finished this quilt. I finished the top in the AirBnb earlier this year and hadn't made it into a finished quilt until now.
This super fun quilt plays with transparency in the main star blocks. It utilizes 4 different colors in 3 different shades each. The quilt was initially going to be a block of the month quilt, but I couldn't get the fabric, sewing instructions, and cutting instructions divided equally and ended up just making it a full pattern by itself. We will be doing this quilt in 4 months for the 4 different types of blocks in the quilt. This will be an informal sew-along on my Twitch channel and I will be sewing on the second Saturday of the month.
Here's the schedule: (updated 10/8: postponed until further notice, sorry!)
- October 8th - Large Stars - Middle Units of the 9 block
- November 12th - Dual Stars - Corner Units of the 9 block
- December 10th - Center Block of the quilt
- January 14th, 2023 - small stars on the border
The Large stars and the Dual stars are first because those will take the most time AND you can make them into other items like a pillow cover if you aren't wanting to make a full quilt.
This sew along will be different because I will be sewing all of the blocks on stream rather than just one of them as a demo.
