Krystal Revisited (Friday Foto Fun #254)
Last weekend, I decided to make another Krystal Convertible bag by Linds Handmade! I was in Orlando earlier this week for a work conference and had plans to head to Walt Disney World for half a day (Editor's note: Because of the hurricane, Sherry is STILL in Florida!). If we were going to WDW, I HAD to have a new bag to go with the trip! I thought the Team Snacks fabrics from Purple Dragon (it ran like 2 years ago) would look PERFECT for this bag. You can read about my first and second Krystal experiences here.
This was the first time that I tried using GeekyFuse Poly Soft and Firm versions for the bag. It was a little bit of a learning curve with my Heat Press and getting accurate temperatures that fuse properly, but overall I'm happy with the results. I continued to reverse the back zipper and slip pocket because of my personal preference.
The single panel was enough for the entire exterior of the bag along with zipper pockets and slip pockets on the inside of the bag. I used a grey waterproof canvas as the liner and black faux leather for the base and accents.
Overall, the bag turned out great and it was the quickest Krystal I've made yet! From start to finish, including cutting out all of the pieces (except for the rectangle ring holders) took me 4.5 hours! Look how cute the bag is when cinched in backpack form!
Bag Details

What are your sewing plans this weekend? I will be streaming on Twitch to catch up on some WIP quilts that I started a few months ago. I'll be either working on my Elephant Abstractions quilt or working on more blocks on my Awesome Ocean quilt. I hope you'll come hang out, chat, and sew tomorrow! See you then!

Very cute little bag. Bags are quick and fun! Why don’t I make more?
