2024 Planning Party… sort of (Friday Foto Fun #312)
Normally around this time of year, I look back at my 2023 goals that I set at the end of last year and start planning my 2024 goals. I'm still joining in with Yvonne at Quilting Jet Girl for the 2024 planning party, 2024 will look a lot different than years past.
First, the recap on the 2023 goals:
- RESET Health and Wellness; I didn't lose as much weight as I wanted to but I've definitely built some really great habits returning to yoga and running. My total running miles for the year will end right around 550 miles!
- REST Mental Health; this is still a work in progress to do intentional check-ins with myself, but this is the biggest focus for 2024.
- RENEW Powered by Quilting; I achieved pretty much everything on my list except that I ended the Simply Series mid-year and I'm not sure if I'm going to pick it back up anytime soon.
Overall, not bad on achieving the goals that I set out at the beginning of the year. How is 2024 going to look different?
Well, I'm taking an unpaid sabbatical from my day job starting on January 1 for a full 12 weeks. But I'm also not going to be putting in a bunch of work into the quilting pattern business and I'll be temporarily not accepting quilts for longarming for a few weeks as I take a much-needed break. I have lofty plans for the 12 weeks off to do the following:
- Learn new artistic skills such as block printing, sewing a garment, procreate drawing, and just being a beginning in new artistic things
- Read through my fairly large reading list
- Clean up and find permanent homes for items in my house (about time after 18+ months living in our home)
- Resetting boundaries with my relationship with work
- Adding strength training to my fitness routine
I'm not even sure how much I'll be streaming and/or blogging outside of the commitments that I've already made for the Wish BOM sew-along and the blog hop for my new signature line for Island Batik in early March. My blog posts will most likely turn into what I learned or experimented with that week and it may or may not be sewing!
It hasn't hit me yet that today is my last day of work until the end of March 2024. This is the longest break that I've ever had from working or going to school and I can't wait to utilize this time. Wish me luck!!!
The rest of 2024 planning will happen after I get more clarity on my life after the sabbatical. All I know is that things won't stay the same.
I will be streaming tomorrow to make another Pocket Pal starting at 9am central on my Twitch channel. Come hang out, sew, and chat with me!
