Krystal Revisited (Friday Foto Fun #254)

Last weekend, I decided to make another Krystal Convertible bag by Linds Handmade!  I was in Orlando earlier this week for a work conference and had plans to head to Walt Disney World for half a day (Editor’s note: Because of the hurricane, Sherry is STILL in Florida!).  If we were going to WDW, I HAD to have a new bag to go with the...

Change Direction – Finally Finished!

It’s been a long time since I finished the Change Direction quilt top earlier this year.  Given the supply chain challenges last year around this time, I didn’t get the Citified collection until right before I left Albuquerque, so I had to finish a lot of the tops for that collection in temporary living in Minnesota.

Printing Templates (Friday Foto Fun #253)

I wanted to talk about printing templates today.   Any pattern that needs templates, typically a bag pattern or a foundation paper piecing pattern, relies on accurate printing.  Sounds easy, right? Wrong!  So many people have issues printing.  Patterns that need accurate printing usually have a “test block” to measure to ensure it’s the correct size when printed.

Missing Market (Friday Foto Fun #252)

Today starts the festivities at Quilt Market in Houston… and I’m not there.  There’s a good amount of FOMO going on, but honestly, it was the best choice for me to miss this year.  I’m super interested to know how this first in-person Quilt Market event is since the last Market was Fall 2019.  To all my friends that are at Market, I hope it’s...

Hiraeth Handbag revisited!

I made another Hiraeth Handbag by Lavender & Twine.  It took me 2 Saturday streams and a total of ~9 hours or so from start to finish to complete the bag!

Longarming Mini Series – Joining Batting (Friday Foto Fun #251)

As a longarm quilter I buy batting by the roll which means I inevitably end up with all sorts of strips of batting that aren’t quite big enough for another quilt.  For example, for a 60″x60″ quilt, the batting required is approximately 66″x66″.  However since the batting is on a roll that is 90″ wide, I end up having a 66″x 24″ strip left over....

Simply Hidden Quilt Pattern!

Introducing Simply Hidden! This quilt top (minus the borders) was made in about 3.5 hours this past Saturday!  This is the tenth Simply Quilt of the year and it’s great for showing off big bold colors.  I was trying to get a photo outside before the sun went down and completely missed the dirt smudge on the front of the quilt.  The dirt smudge gives...

October’s Quilt in a Day is tomorrow! (Friday Foto Fun #250)

It’s that time of the month again!  Tomorrow we will be stitching up another Simply Quilt!  Introducing Simply Hidden!  I love the secondary designs this pattern creates and I can’t wait to make the quilt. Be sure to follow me on Twitch to get notifications when I go live! Hope to sew with you tomorrow at 9am Central Time!  Or just come hang out and...

Hiraeth Handbag!

Today I’m sharing the last bag that was made at the Wizardry Getaway, the Hiraeth Handbag by Lavender & Twine.  I love Lavender & Twine patterns and this one did not disappoint.
