Having a pressing board is a million times better than a regular ironing board. A pressing board is firm enough to give your blocks a great press to keep all your blocks nice and flat. I have been using a homemade pressing board for the past few years. When I was doing research on how to make a pressing board, I found a lot of...
When I sat down to figure out what I wanted to share on this Friday, I figured I’d do more of a personal post this week. It’s been a long time since I’ve offered true insights into myself and my aspirations, so here it goes… I’m Sherry and I’m the brain-child of Powered By Quilting. The name comes from the ties I have with my...
Today kicks off Block 1 of Sew Let’s QAL! Read all the details of the QAL here. Don’t forget to bookmark my quick links page for easy access to all of the designers’ and hosts’ blog posts! The first block is a Sewing Machine by Sandra of Sandra Healy Designs. You will need to go to Sandra’s post to download the pattern for this block. ...
Happy Friday! I am trying something different today with a video blog! I was trying to edit my Facebook Live post from Wednesday to make the tutorial for making a design board, but my audio and video was not syncing up. I decided to re-tape the instructions on how to make your own design boards. Enjoy!
The last 2 weeks of the sew along are here!!! Weeks 9&10 are all about Block and Quilt Top assembly! I’ll be doing a Facebook Live video in the Facebook Group on Wednesday (that’s tomorrow!) starting at 7pm Central. As always, you can leave notes in the Facebook Group if you can’t make it live and I’ll be there to answer them! I’ll be covering...
This year’s QuiltCon was held in Nashville, TN this past Thursday to Sunday. I traveled out there Wednesday morning and got home late Sunday night! I was also a Super Volunteer meaning I did over 16 hours of volunteering at the event! I look forward to going to Austin in 2020 and Atlanta in 2021. Here are some of the highlights:

Happy Friday! BeaQuilter has been hosting the Dust Off a Quilt Book blog hop all week and today is my turn to share! The concept is to take one of the many quilt books that we all have and dust it off. Make a project from the book! The book that I chose was the 180 Doodle Quilting Designs! I have so many free motion...
Weeks 7&8 are all about Group B Stars! I’ll be at QuiltCon from tomorrow through the weekend, so there might not a Facebook Live video for these weeks! As always, you can leave notes in the Facebook Group and I’ll be there to answer them! You can also check out the Group A video since this week is going to be very similar!
The 2019 Island Batik Ambassador program officially kicked off earlier this month! We got our boxes a little earlier this year and I had to tape my unboxing video rather than wait for a live reveal because I was just TOO excited to see what was in our boxes! I posted the video to my Facebook page earlier this month, but in case you missed...
