Longarming Mini Series – Joining Batting (Friday Foto Fun #251)

As a longarm quilter I buy batting by the roll which means I inevitably end up with all sorts of strips of batting that aren’t quite big enough for another quilt.  For example, for a 60″x60″ quilt, the batting required is approximately 66″x66″.  However since the batting is on a roll that is 90″ wide, I end up having a 66″x 24″ strip left over....

Simply Hidden Quilt Pattern!

Introducing Simply Hidden! This quilt top (minus the borders) was made in about 3.5 hours this past Saturday!  This is the tenth Simply Quilt of the year and it’s great for showing off big bold colors.  I was trying to get a photo outside before the sun went down and completely missed the dirt smudge on the front of the quilt.  The dirt smudge gives...

Hiraeth Handbag!

Today I’m sharing the last bag that was made at the Wizardry Getaway, the Hiraeth Handbag by Lavender & Twine.  I love Lavender & Twine patterns and this one did not disappoint.

Krystal Convertible Bag!

Today I’m sharing another bag made at the Wizardry Getaway, the Krystal Convertible bag by Linds Handmade!  Lindsay actually taught this pattern at the getaway and it was really fun getting to know her in person.  She’s spectacular 😀

Mini Magda Wristlet!

I made the most darling little wristlet this last weekend for August’s Bag Day!  After the time-consuming Voyage Handbag last month, I picked an itty bitty wristlet this month and finished it just under 2.5 hours!  This is the Mini Magda by Oro Rosa Patterns!

Long Time Gone BOM WIP

This past weekend I got the bug to work on some really OLD work-in-progress (WIP) projects.  The Long Time Gone BOM is a pattern by Jen Kingwell and the block of the month was run by my friend and shop owner Pam Selkirk of Serendipity Woods. I finished Month 7 of 13ish months.

Longarming Mini Series – My Favorite Batting

For as long as I’ve been blogging, I haven’t ever talked about batting, much less my favorite batting.  When I started quilting, I picked up all sorts of different batting from Hancock Fabrics (RIP), Joanns, SR Harris, etc.  I didn’t really understand the differences between poly, cotton, wool, etc. I’m not going to go into the specifics of each type today, but I will tell...

Longarming Mini Series – Picking a Pantograph

As I’m catching up on longarming all of the quilt tops that I made while my machine was in storage, I realized there are quite a few things that I haven’t talked about on the blog about longarming.  Prepping your quilt for the longarmer is all detailed on the Longarm Quilting Services page, but for the pantograph, I have the customer select whichever one they...

North Stars Top Complete!

The North Stars quilt top (pattern by Elizabeth Hartman) is finally finished!!!  I started this journey in February 2021 and finished one block a month until I moved.

Serendipity Wallet!

Happy Tuesday!  I’m getting back into a routine again, which is at least one step towards getting more situated after the move.  I made this beautiful Serendipity Wallet this past weekend on my Twitch channel.  It was actually a little bit of fumbling through the pattern, but it turned out great!
