March Color Challenge Block!
Happy March! This month's color is YELLOW! If you want more details on the challenge read about it here.
Jen from Patterns by Jen designed a block that can be made in 6" and 12" finished. I opted to make all the blocks 12" to match the blocks I designed. You can get Jen's block pattern from her blog here.
The goal of the challenge is to have an entire block or project made from that month's color.
A tip to share about Jen's block: She includes instructions for no waste flying geese. I square my flying geese up with the Wing Clipper as shown below! It's a great tool to make sure your flying geese are squared up to the correct size! Click here
So I am designing a sample block each month for this challenge. My block this month has all sorts of elements included! Make sure to read the instructions carefully to make one hourglass block. The method I used does leave your block with bias edges, so be gentle with it as you add the corners. At the end of the year I'll give setting instructions for a 12 block and a 24 block quilt. There is a possibility of a 36 block quilt too!

Love those yellow blocks, Sherri! I’m wishing there was more yellow visible out my window today. At the moment everything is white with snow!!
I was just thinking how I like it when a BOM gets to a point where it starts to feel like you have an interesting collection of blocks happening. So it is a pleasure to see yours all sitting out together. Love the block you added this month of your own too.
