#365DaysOfArtPBQChallenge Week21, Exercises 141-147
Some of my exercises this week are only done in pencil. Trying to get the house ready to be listed is a lot of work! I've still been trying to get my art in as consistently as I can. It's Week 21 of the 365 Days Of Art Challenge! If you haven't started yet, no worries! The link up at the bottom of the post will be open all year so be sure to check back to see what other fellow creatives have made with this week's exercises. Read more about the challenge and catch up on all the previous weeks!
Without further ado, here are my 7 for this week… the good, bad, and ugly!
#141 Observe your reflection and draw what you see. I didn't draw in the bathroom. I used my front facing camera on my phone to look at myself and draw. For someone that really dislikes drawing faces, I think it turned out okay. Maybe I just don't like drawing ears and my hair happened to be covering my ears!
#142 Draw your favorite animal. Technically I have two favorite animals, bunnies and cute whales. I have no idea now to draw a bunny so I decided to draw a cute whale. Notice I didn't say normal looking whales, they are huge and not all that attractive. But the cute drawn whales, I love and will buy all the whale fabric (as long as they are cute)!
#143 Draw each of these leaves on the next page, paying particular attention to the shapes. This is the exercise I am most proud of this week. Even though I didn't color in the leaves, I think the shapes look really good! I was impressed with how drawing the leaves turned out. Yes, I'm patting myself on the back!
#144 Color the leaves using autumn colors. First of all, it's not autumn so this was a weird exercise! Also, I wish it was autumn with how warm it's been lately. I am always impressed with the how watercolor makes any pre-drawn page look amazing.
#145 Draw something outside today, where people might see you. So as I mentioned, it's been really hot these past few days. I ended up drawing in my garage looking at my car parked on the street. I quickly drew it, and then hurried back inside. Is it fall yet?!
#146 Draw or color the rays of light from the sun. Can you tell I'm melting yet? I tried to make the sun rays take up the whole page to depict that it's really warm. Like...sweltering warm in Minnesota this week. I am not a fan.
#147 Add patterns to all the socks. Surprisingly, this was the hardest exercise this week. I own all the same type of sock, and they are very boring. Trying to think of ideas to decorate these socks were really hard! After I finished, I thought of all the novelty socks that my sister wears. I should have drawn donuts or something on the sock... maybe next time.
Now that we've all had a good chuckle and/or grimace, I encourage you to join in the fun and expand your creative horizons too!

I’m impressed with your drawings! And considering how busy you are, you took time to distress or stress with some art.
I like seeing what you’re drawing way more than getting my assignments done (ahem). You are doing really well! Those leaves are awesome!
I enjoy all your drawings, but the socks are just super adorable. Good luck on your move!
Hi Sherry,
Even without reading your paragraph, that is one CUTE whale! Seriously, I would take him and appliqué him on a baby quilt in a heartbeat. Don’t you think those socks would make an adorable quilt, too?! I love this challenge for you – I can’t draw but am enjoying yours for sure. Happy Sunday! ~smile~ Roseanne
