Trish & Birdie Blog Hop!
Today is my stop on the Trish & Birdie blog hop! Trish & Birdie is this super cute new fabric line designed by Deane Beesley for Sweet Bee Designs.
I decided to make a baby quilt with these fat quarters. Aren't these prints lovely?
What's more adorable than chevrons?! I know chevrons were a big thing a while ago, but I don't have a chevron quilt yet! This quilt finished at 44"x51", a perfect baby quilt!
This quilt is not made with flying geese, the chevrons are slightly taller. I had to track which colors went after each other and the different sizes were actually pretty helpful to keep them separated. I also decided to make bonus half square triangles with the corner trimmings.
I added vertical sashing between the chevrons to break up the color. I decided on a dark gray to help that different colors pop!
I picked lots of different spools of Aurifil thread to quilt with. I quilted an infinity loop motif for every other chevron section.
I had enough of each print to make a scrappy binding for the quilt! This is one of the first quilts that I think the back is just as pretty as the front! Remember the extra half square triangles that I made earlier, I added them to the back! (Click on the photo to enlarge!)
