Jasmine Sling Bag (Friday Foto Fun #134)
Last weekend, I streamed on Twitch making my Jasmine Sling Bag by Bagstock Designs. This was a bonus bag day for July! I am addicted to making bags, and I'm so excited to have gotten better and better at bag making!
The fabric used for the pattern is custom Harry Potter fabric. I even have some really awesome custom zipper pulls to go with it. I cannot wait until COVID is over and we can actually be in crowds again without fear of getting sick.
The interior of the bag has a zipper on one side. I realized that you can't actually see the zipper pocket, but trust me it's there! It's perfect for a small crossbody bag to carry your items.
The Jasmine Sling Bag pattern comes in two different variations. I picked the vertical zipper version rather than the pocket flap version. You can see both on Bagstock Design's website.
Details about what I used:
- Natural Cork with Silver from Fabric Funhouse
- Bag Hardware and Zipper Tape from Sallie Tomato (minus the custom zipper pulls)
- Thread: Aurifil 2024 50wt
- Pattern: Jasmine Sling Bag by Bagstock Designs
If you are looking for a bag designer who makes AWESOME patterns, I would definitely start with Bagstock Designs. I don't know her, but her patterns are excellent! She is one of the 3 designers for the Bag of the Month Club (August - October 2020 subscription), too! I decided to join in the fun for the first time and look forward to making the patterns! You get 3 bag patterns for $15 (early club membership). The bag patterns are brand new and get released each month. Here are the details.
I will be making something on stream tomorrow. It might be a bag or some quilt blocks... I haven't decided yet. If you are free, come hang out, chat, and sew along! You can ask me anything! I'll plan on starting around 8am Mountain time. Be sure to follow me on Twitch to get a notification on when I go live!
What are your weekend sewing plans?

That is a cute bag. I love crossbody bags when going out and about (or when we used to do that). I’ll check out the designer, haven’t heard of her before.
Very nice. You are on a roll with bags. ☺ I have several bag patterns, and I don’t know why I haven’t made them yet.
I love this bag! So many bags, so little time but I am doing one for me this month…somehow, someway!
Very cute bag with the cork detail!
