QAL by the Sea Block 8!

Block 8 is released today!  Kathleen of Kathleen McMusing is this week's designer.  Be sure to bookmark my quick links page so you have easy access to all the blocks and hosts!  You can also find the quick links page by clicking the button on the right side of my page.

I followed Kathleen's recommended colors for her block with pink, red, light blue, blue, yellow, and orange!  The benefits of using grunge scraps, I have all the colors!

Here are my top tips:

This is a 100% paper pieced block as well!  If you are new to paper piecing, you can check out my written tutorial here.  Or watch the tutorial I gave for my Sun Block which was also paper pieced. The method of paper piecing is identical!  The video is also pinned to the top on my Facebook Page.

For this block, I would remove the papers before sewing the units together.  The ends of the points of the star will cause the paper to get stuck in the seams if you wait to take the papers out last.  Good luck!
