Awesome Ocean – Slow but Steady!
I was able to finish the Turtle blocks for the Awesome Ocean quilt this past weekend. The total time was about 6 hours to complete these little blocks. They are pretty darling, but I'm not really sure if 6 hours was worth it.
I struggle a lot with Elizabeth Hartman quilts. On one hand, the quilts are SOOO cute! But they also take FOREVER to finish. With the Turtles completed, I only have 2 more animals to finish and then the assembly for the quilt top.
Elizabeth came out with some new patterns with her new fabric collection dropping next summer too. This is my favorite of her new patterns, Produce Section.
Can you please save me from myself? There is MORE Essex Linen in this quilt and look at those TINY pieces. I went searching for a pre-order of the quilt kit, before I had enough sense to STOP. But while I was searching, I saw the new warm and cool colorways of the Delightful Desert quilt, also so cute and I already own the pattern. Good thing I stopped myself from buying a kit and considering using my speckled fabric to create my own monochromatic colorways needed for the quilt. I'm not in love with what I picked though. The question for you my friends, have you seen the Delightful Desert quilt made in Speckled fabric? If so, please comment and let me know where!
Did I mention, please save me from myself. I can't start another Elizabeth quilt until this Awesome Ocean is complete!

I agree with you on EH patterns. Labeling is a must for all those pieces, but the blocks are so darn cute! I like that new one, but I’m seriously liking the farm animal one. I had to hold back from pre-ordering that one, so I get what you mean!
