Back to Reality (Friday Foto Fun #57)
The hardest thing about coming back from vacation is adjusting back to reality. Last weekend in LA and Houston was so fun, but I got really far behind at work from being gone so this week was ROUGH! To top it off, it snowed yesterday so I decided not to go to the guild meeting. I'll try again next month.
I'm still mulling through my thoughts about this Fall Quilt Market and will capture my thoughts in my recap post next Tuesday. Quilt Market is always so inspirational and thought-provoking as a new designer. Anyway more on that next week... I was catching up on life this week so I did not get much sewing or crafting in at all!
I did remember that I hadn't shared a couple of the bee blocks that I made for my beehive mates last month. Both of my bees are part of the Blossom Heart Quilting Bees. Sign-ups, unfortunately, have already closed for next year.
This is the Abacus block and I've made this one a few times, but the color requested for this one is the best. I love the grays and the teals that were requested. I find it odd that I'm ooh-ing and aah-ing on colors that I picked. I suppose that makes for a great block!
This is a pink and green bunting block. I think it'll be pretty neat with a lot of these blocks together.
I still need to get all of my blocks that I received back in April sewed together in a quilt top. One of these days it'll get done, but this weekend I'm already starting on quilts for next Spring's Island Batik catalog! Crazy that one market ends and I immediately start prepping for the next one!
Your turn! What did you accomplish this week? A block? A quilt top? Link up below!
A few reminders:
- When you link up a post, please try to support the others folks in the linky party! Let's spread the motivation and support to help everyone make progress in their own time.
- Your post does not need to be something quilty you accomplished, but definitely encouraged. Sometimes life just gets in the way, but feel free to share something you are proud of this week.

Hi Sherry, your teal and grey block looks great. That is a wonderful colour combination. Good luck with getting back to reality – that’s the hard part of taking holidays.
Snow?!! I’m glad you had a week off of you busy schedule for warmer climates and the Quilt Market!
