2019 Midyear Review (Friday Foto Fun #90)
Happy Friday! I can't believe I've lived in Missouri for a year now. Where did the time go? I thought this week would be a great time to do my 2019 Midyear Review. Yvonne from Quilting Jet Girl hosted the 2019 Planning Party last December and this is my midyear review. Typically Yvonne hosts a midyear review too, but I think I'm a few days early. The image below is NOT the official image! I'll update it when the Midyear Review officially kicks off!
Powered By Quilting Goals:
- Release at least 6 full patterns this year, so approximately one a quarter.
- I am on pace to exceed this goal! I had 2 new patterns in January from Magazines and then another 4 new patterns in May! I have 2-3 new patterns slated for the Fall, and I know I'm not done yet!
- Blog 2 times a week
- DONE! And some weeks (like this one) is more!
- Submit quilt designs for both the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 Island Batik Catalogs.
- DONE for Fall 2019 and I will be submitting designs for Spring 2020.
- Submit quilt designs to magazines every other month.
- So... nope, I'm not doing this. It's a lot of work and I have so much in the works, this goal is not feasible. I have submitted to one that got accepted, but that's it so far.
- Host more sew alongs this year, starting with Hidden Stars!
- The Barn Quilt BOM quilt along will be starting this Fall. Details will be released soon!
Personal Sewing Goals:
- Sew more for FUN!
- Believe it or not, I've been more intentional with my challenge projects to be things that I wanted to do for FUN! So I suppose I'm doing this... does it count if it's doing double duty?
- Sewing more fabric than I buy.
- I've been so good at not purchasing fabric. I sort of didn't think that this was going to be achievable so I hadn't been keeping track. But I do know I haven't bought a lot this year!
- Intentional Free Motion Quilting practice on a regular basis.
- I started FMQ for the 100 Days challenge, then I realized it was so hard to keep up that I quit. Whoops. I don't think it matters since my Longarm is getting set up today. I still need to give her a name. Thoughts?
Personal Fitness Goals:
- Lift 2x a week.
- I achieved this for a few weeks... then I stopped. I need to get back to it!
- I would add in running if I had more time, but we'll see.
- I was able to get off my blood pressure medication a few weeks ago and for the first time in a LONG time I've actually WANTED to go run. But I need to wait for my leg to heal... I got stitches and then it got infected. Not great.
Mental Goals:
- Be kind to myself.
- Understand that I am doing the best I can right now.
- Don't get caught up comparing myself to others.
I think in general I have been doing a lot better in this area. Still definitely a work in progress.
Well, I think I'm making really good progress this year so far. I have so much I WANT to do, but not enough time to get it all done. I hope that everyone is making good progress on their goals for the year! Can't wait to read everyone's recaps.
Eventually, I'll be linking to Yvonne's Midyear Review!

How can it possibly be a year already?!? Wow. I’m still not sure I want to share you with Missouri. Can you come back? Hahaha. Anyway, congrats on your midyear goals; you are doing great! As to the longarm name — how about Mizzy — since you’re in Missouri, home of the Mizzou (or however it’s spelled).
Nice goal check on your year – I’d say you’re doing great!
You’ve done a ton already this year! Congratulations!
Great progress on your list! Get that new baby named and working!!
