Friday Finish, WIPs, and UFOs Roundup

I’m home!!!! Time to have a quilting party!!!  Seriously so excited to be home and not traveling for work for the next two weeks.  Maybe my quilting life can get back to normal.  I decided to do a roundup this week to get my head wrapped around everything that is on my WIP (works in progress) or UFO (unfinished object) lists.  But let’s start with...

I Wish You a Merry QAL Block 6!

Block 6 is revealed! Sandra Healy of Sandra Healy Designs designed Block 6, Hanging Star Angel Block. This block uses piecing for the background and applique for the stars and the angels. I ended up using a mixture of Moda Grunge and other metallic fabrics for this block.

I Wish You a Merry QAL Block 5!

I am so proud to share the Snowman block I designed!  I used Moda Grunge Evergreen, White Paper, Onyx, and Red for the piecing portion of the block.  Mr. Snowman’s nose is a Moda Grunge Orange scrap. When we first started planning this QAL, I jumped at the chance to make a Snowman block!  Snowmen are my favorite thing about winter and the holidays, especially...

Circular Illusion Quilt Pattern!

I am so excited to share my newest pattern with you today!  Introducing Circular Illusion!  When looking at this quilt from a distance, it gives an optical illusion of circles.  However, it looks like simple patchwork up close. Circular Illusion is a beginner friendly pattern made with fat quarters or fat eighths and would look great using collections as well as scrappy fabric from your stash!

Fusible Grid Madness aka Tutorial

I finished the Mario Quilt this week!  I used fusible grid to make this process really quick and painless: Fusible grid is a thin piece of interfacing that has iron-on adhesive on one side and grid lines printed on the other.  There are different brands of fusible grid, and it comes in different grid sizes.  For this quilt, I used a 2″ fusible grid from...

Dream Quilting

In the last week, I’ve had like 4 nights in a row of dreaming about the Chic Country quilt.  The dream ends up being about the same every time; I debate for what seems like forever about fabric choices and always end up with a black and white quilt with a pink pop of color. The Pink is the Kona Color of the Year...

Broken Lattice Pattern Release Day!

Today’s the day!  Pattern #102 (called Broken Lattice) is now released as a FREE PDF Pattern on Craftsy! (Free for a limited time!) I’m really excited about this pattern because it showcases the fabric and colors really well.  This quilt is a beginner and precut friendly pattern with either 2 Jelly Rolls or 1 Honey bun for the 2 sizes.  The full size quilt finishes...

Why I say No.

Why I say No.

Saying no and my reasoning behind it is something I’ve wanted to talk about for a while…people I know all think everyone is getting a quilt for a present.  There are many articles that have been written on how to say no as a crafter since we all feel that nagging guilt when someone you know and love asks you to make them something whether...
